NEWS RELEASE: $3 Million Grant Awarded to Study Pacheco Pass Wildlife Overcrossing Near Future High-Speed Rail Line
SAN JOSE, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) and the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency, along with partners from Caltrans, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and Pathways for Wildlife, are applauding the award of a $3.125 million grant to continue efforts to protect wildlife movement in Northern California. The California Wildlife Conservation Board grant will fund the planning, design, environmental review and permitting of a proposed wildlife overcrossing spanning State Route 152, near the San Jose to Merced high-speed rail project section.

NEWS RELEASE: High-Speed Rail Releases Spring 2022 Construction Update
FRESNO, Calif. – Today, in recognition of Women in Construction Week, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) released its Spring 2022 Construction Update and recognized women who are contributing to the nation’s first high-speed rail project. With continued winter construction progress, highlights include last month’s completion of the South Avenue Grade Separation in Fresno County, updates on the Cedar Viaduct’s dual span of arches and installation of pre-cast concrete girders at the Conejo Viaduct.

NEWS RELEASE: High-Speed Rail Funded Grade Separation Opens to Traffic
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) announced today it has completed another structure on the nation’s first high-speed rail system. The South Avenue Grade Separation in Fresno County is now open to traffic, adding to the continued progress along the 65-mile segment known as Construction Package (CP) 2-3 in Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties.

NEWS RELEASE: California High-Speed Rail Releases Final Environmental Studies to Connect Silicon Valley and Central Valley
SAN JOSE, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) today released the Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIR/EIS) for the approximately 90-mile San Jose to Merced Project Section in Northern California. The Authority’s Board of Directors will consider the final document for approval during its two-day board meeting on April 20 and 21, in conjunction with the proposed approval of the preferred alternative alignment. If approved, this project section will move closer to being “shovel ready” for when preconstruction and construction funding becomes available.
