NEWS RELEASE: California High-Speed Rail Authority Moves Closer to Buying First Trainsets
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Today, the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s Board of Directors took a major step toward bringing high-speed rail service to California by approving the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to industry for the nation’s first 220 mph electrified high-speed trainsets.

VIDEO RELEASE: San Jose State Summer Program High School Students Tour California High-Speed Rail Construction
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) today released a video highlighting a recent construction tour with high school students from the Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) summer program at San Jose State University. The tour of high-speed rail construction sites in the Central Valley was part of an intensive three-week program that focused on transportation and environmental curriculum with presentations from California transit leaders and project site visits.

NEWS RELEASE: High-Speed Rail Authority Completes Seventh Structure in Central Valley in 2023
KERN COUNTY, Calif. –The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) announced today the completion of its seventh high-speed rail structure in the Central Valley this year. The Merced Avenue overcrossing in Kern County is now open to traffic. The Merced Avenue overcrossing and grade separation is located on State Route (SR) 43, south of the city of Wasco in Kern County. This grade separation, designed and constructed by California Rail Builders, spans 509 feet, is 43 feet wide, and takes traffic over SR 43, as well as BNSF and future high-speed rail lines.

PHOTO RELEASE: High-Speed Rail Authority Celebrates Completion of Grade Separation Project in City of Wasco
WASCO, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in collaboration with California Rail Builders and the city of Wasco, today celebrated the completion of the Poso Avenue grade separation project. The underpass is now open to traffic. The Poso Avenue underpass is located between State Route (SR) 43 and J Street and has four lanes and pedestrian access. It will serve as a grade separation, taking traffic and pedestrians under the BNSF freight railroad and future high-speed rail tracks.
