PHOTO RELEASE: Economic Summit Visitors Attend High-Speed Rail Construction Tour in Central Valley

Today, Authority Board of Directors Chairman Lenny Mendonca and Central Valley Regional Director Diana Gomez led a tour of several active construction sites on the high-speed rail project for two dozen visitors in Fresno. Today marks the official kick-off of the three-day Economic Summit in Fresno, which will culminate in an appearance by Governor Newsom on November 8. California high-speed rail project investments to date has made significant positive impacts to the Central Valley. The Authority has committed over $3.5 billion in investments for the 119 miles currently under construction, which has resulted in over 3,000 construction workers dispatched since the start of major construction, over $500 million made in investments to local infrastructure in the Fresno area, and hundreds of certified small businesses that are providing goods and services to build the project.
