NEWS RELEASE: California High-Speed Rail Releases Fall 2021 Construction Update
FRESNO, Calif. – Today, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) released its Fall 2021 Construction Update highlighting the progress being made on the nation’s first high-speed rail project. Highlights include progress across all high-speed rail construction packages, including new aerial views of the Cedar Viaduct where crews are working on the dual span of arches over State Route 99.

News Release: Authority Board Approves High-Speed Rail Line Between Bakersfield and Palmdale
Los Angeles – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) Board of Directors today approved the Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) for the approximately 80-mile Bakersfield to Palmdale project alignment section. The action paves the way for full California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) clearance of nearly 300 miles of the high-speed rail project’s 500-mile Phase 1 alignment from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim. The Board’s actions mark the first CEQA certification of an environmental document in the Southern California region.

Today, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) welcomed United States Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Representative Jim Costa (D-Calif.) to high-speed rail construction during a trip through the Central Valley. Sen. Padilla and Rep. Costa toured the San Joaquin River Viaduct and Pergola — an award-winning structure spanning the San Joaquin River in north Fresno and the Union Pacific tracks parallel to State Route 99.

NEWS RELEASE: High-Speed Rail, City of Palmdale Announce Partnership to Advance Palmdale Station Planning
The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) took another step toward advancing work for the proposed high-speed rail station in downtown Palmdale. The Authority entered into an agreement this past week with the City of Palmdale to supply matching funds for a grant application to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. If awarded, the grant will support completion of the city’s Station Implementation Master Plan (Master Plan).
